Chelsea was a ladybug fanatic, she loved ladybugs, and could spot them just about anywhere we
were. Once, when we were living in a rent house, when I was pregnant with her sister, just a few
months before she passed away, we had what could only be called  an "invasion" of ladybugs. I
believe we counted over 100 ladybugs on the front of our house alone. As you can imagine this was
a great pleasure for Chelsea.
On our first visit to the cemetery after Chelsea's funeral on May 20, 2005 we were standing at the
head of Chelsea's grave, where the little metal plaque that the funeral home provides was. We
really weren't talking to each other, I think we were both lost in our own thoughts at the time. I
began to cry and was talking to Chelsea, telling her how much we missed her and loved her, when
all of a sudden a single ladybug flew down and landed on the plaque. We both felt that it was a
sign from God and from Chelsea that she was at home with him and safe. She knew that her
mommy and daddy would know that it was her if she sent us a ladybug.
There is a game that we play in our family called "Cadillac Whack" it is pretty
much like "slug-bug"  except instead of a VW beetle, you "whack" someone when
you see a Cadillac. Now William had taught Chelsea how to play but she
misunderstood, and thought her daddy was saying "Cadillac White" so
whenever Chelsea would see a white vehicle she would yell "Cadillac White"
daddy and then laugh like crazy, she thought it was so funny.
The day before our trip to the cemetery for the first time, William was driving
home from work, sitting in traffic at a light. He noticed that on the drivers
side, a Cadillac had pulled up, and he kinda teared up, thinking about Chelsea.
As he was turning back to the front he felt something bump his right arm, he
looked toward the passenger seat to see what had bumped him, and was
startled to see a very large butterfly sitting in the seat next to him. It took him
a moment to put it together, but looking from the butterfly to the Cadillac and
back again he realized that Chelsea was getting her one last "Cadillac Whack"
from heaven. He told her "all-right baby girl you got Daddy, Cadillac Whack".
A FLOWER
FOR YOU
The first day my father went back to work after the accident and funeral he noticed a small
purple wildflower growing near the door of the building that he works in.  Now there are no
other flowers growing around this area so this flower catches his attention.
He doesn't tell anyone about this flower but says a little prayer everyday when he walks past
it.  So the mowers come to mow the grass and lo and behold they mow AROUND the flower,
now mind you this is a single flower and they go AROUND it.  Well then in this awful heat
(you know how Texas is) the poor flower starts to wilt and die.  So the next day there is a
brand new flower in place of the one that died.  So Tuesday May 24, 2005 I go with my
grandmother, to eat lunch with my dad, and as he's telling me this story he says now wait
that's not all.  He happened to forget his phone that morning at home so he had to leave to go
home and get it.  He says it takes me about 30 minutes to get there and back and in that time
frame, a brand new flower sprouted and bloomed that wasn't there before.  So now there are
two flowers by the back door.  We know that this is a sign from Chelsea and God that she's
ok and she's with Him in Heaven and watching over us always.
